Our goal at American River College is to help you achieve your educational and occupational goals. One important part of achieving your goals is finding the math class that is most appropriate for you. The ARC Student Self-Assessment system was designed to help make finding the right math class easy. As you go through this process, keep the following points in mind:

You will choose a math class based on your background and math skills. |

Be honest with yourself. Don't choose a class that is too difficult. |
|
|
If you have not taken a math class recently (more than two years ago), consider a class that is one level below where you want to start. |
|
|
A "transfer level" math class will require a transcript verifying that you have met the course prerequisite. |
It should take you less than an hour to finish the seven steps below and find the best math class for you.

(If you completed the Math Self-Assessment process before June 21, 2004,
you will not be able to re-print your report due to upgrades. You will have to redo the process
